In Person Classes
Mom-to-Be Tea
You’re invited to our Mom-to-Be Tea, a warm and welcoming gathering just for expectant moms! Enjoy light refreshments while connecting with other mothers-to-be, sharing experiences, and building your support network. We’ll also introduce you to helpful pregnancy resources, local services, and classes available through Babies in Bloom. This is a special chance to slow down, sip tea, and celebrate this exciting season of life together. Perfect for first-time moms or those adding to their family.
Newborn Care
Discover the fundamentals of newborn care and stay up-to-date with the latest safety guidelines. This class offers practical solutions to common challenges, equipping parents with the knowledge needed to make the safest and most informed decisions for their baby. Covered topics include: Newborn Appearance, Senses and Brain Development, Interpreting Cues, Crying and Soothing Techniques, Feeding, Diapering, Bathing, Sleep, Health, and Safety.
Breastfeeding 101
Education is essential for a successful breastfeeding journey! Discover techniques to ensure a smooth start and prevent common issues. Topics covered include latch and positioning, understanding when and how much to feed your baby, and recognizing signs that your baby is getting enough. Partners are encouraged to join you.
Beach Walk
Take in the fresh ocean air and connect with other parents at our Babies in Bloom sponsored beach walk along the scenic Carlsbad Sea Wall Trail. This relaxed, stroller-friendly outing is designed especially for expectant parents and families with little ones. Whether you’re pushing a stroller, carrying your baby, or simply enjoying a walk during pregnancy, it’s a wonderful way to move your body, build community, and soak up the beautiful coastal views. We’d love to have you join us!
Lactation Lounge
Do you have questions about breastfeeding? Interested in tracking your baby’s growth? Or perhaps you’d like to connect with other new mothers and their little ones? Join our Breastfeeding Support Group! Open to all mothers, this group gathers every Tuesday to offer support, encouragement, and a strong sense of community.
Story Time
Join us for a cozy, interactive story time designed especially for babies 18 months and under. In this gentle class, we’ll share simple stories that nurture early language development while creating special bonding moments between you and your little one. With a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, Story Time is a wonderful way to introduce your baby to the joy of books and connect with other parents and caregivers in our community. Come enjoy a sweet start to your child’s lifelong love of reading!
Gear Consultation
Choosing gear for your little one can feel overwhelming—let us make it easier. During this one-on-one appointment, our gear specialist will walk you through car seat and stroller options, give you hands-on demos, and help you find what truly fits your family’s lifestyle. Plus, your appointment fee is applied toward any gear purchase made within 30 days.
Babywearing Fitting
In this one-on-one session, a Certified Babywearing Educator will help you get a safe, comfortable fit with the carrier of your choice. Whether you’re just getting started or simply want to feel more confident adjusting your current carrier, you’ll leave knowing exactly how to position your baby securely while keeping yourself comfortable. This is a great option if you already own a carrier and want expert guidance on how to use it properly.
Car Seat Checks
Whether you’ve just installed your car seat or haven’t touched it since your first baby, this hands-on appointment is for you. Katie will inspect your current installation, ensure everything is correctly and safely secured, and provide personalized instruction on proper use of your child’s car seat. You’ll leave feeling confident and empowered to buckle up your little one safely every time. Available in-person at our office or in your home.
Babywearing 101
Babywearing is more than just a convenience—it’s a beautiful way to bond with your little one while supporting their physical, emotional, and cognitive development. In this workshop, you’ll gain insight into the many benefits of babywearing and explore the five main carrier types to discover what works best for your family. Open to parents, doulas, midwives, birth workers, and anyone interested in learning the science and practice of babywearing, this class is both practical and inspiring.
Infant Massage
Bond with your little one through the gentle art of infant massage. In this 3-week series, you’ll learn soothing techniques and nurturing strokes for each area of your baby’s body, while deepening your connection through touch, eye contact, and presence. Infant massage offers many benefits for both parent and baby—supporting relaxation, easing discomfort, and helping you better understand your baby’s unique cues. Designed for babies from newborn to pre-crawling, this class is a beautiful way to slow down and share meaningful moments together.

Understanding Cesarean Birth eClass
This interactive online course covers essential information about preparing for, having, and recovering from cesarean surgery, and it highlights ways partners can help throughout the process. You’ll also learn what steps you can take to make your planned cesarean birth a family-centered experience, including an opportunity to create your own cesarean birth plan. Allow 2 to 3 hours to complete.
Understanding Pregnancy eClass
This interactive online class covers essential information on your baby’s development, helpful tips for a healthy pregnancy, and includes partner tips throughout. You’ll see how your baby develops with 3D animation and have access to helpful trackers and checklists that help you stay organized and healthy. Allow 2-3 hours to complete.
Understanding Birth eClass
Take a class at your own time and pace! This interactive online course covers essential information on labor and more and highlights ways partners can help. You’ll also get a sense of what labor is really like as you watch several birth stories. You’ll even have an opportunity to create your own birth plan! Allow 6-8 hours to complete.
Understanding Natural Childbirth Techniques eClass
Planning a birth with few to no medical interventions? Learn how at your own time and pace! This interactive online course builds on what you have already learned in a standard childbirth preparation class. You will learn more about natural childbirth, comfort techniques, and how to write a natural birth plan. By watching several birth stories, you will also get a sense of what natural birth is like. Allow 3-4 hours to complete.
Understanding Postpartum Health & Baby Care eClass
This interactive online course covers essential information for the first two weeks after birth, including taking care of yourself, caring for your newborn, and feeding your baby. It also highlights important warning signs so you know when to call for help. Allow about 2 hours to complete.
Understanding Fatherhood eClass
With a positive focus on the importance of expectant dads being involved right from the start, you will learn how to support your partner through pregnancy and birth, as well as survival tips for those first few sleep-deprived months with a newborn. Integrated throughout the class are fun activities and video clips that share the relatable stories of real dads and advice from a fatherhood expert. Allow about 3 hours to complete.
Understanding Your Newborn eClass
This interactive online course covers essential information for the first six weeks and beyond, including clear video examples of bathing, feeding and diapering, and lets you know when to call the doctor. You will also stay organized with a variety of helpful checklists and trackers! Allow 2-3 hours to complete.
Understanding Breastfeeding eClass
Prefer online learning? This interactive online course covers the essentials of breastfeeding, including clear animation and plenty of video examples. It answers the most common questions and sets you up for breastfeeding success. Allow 2-4 hours to complete.
Understanding Multiples eClass
Expecting twins or more? Take an interactive online class made just for you! This class covers everything you need to know about your unique pregnancy, including what to expect from a vaginal or cesarean birth, breastfeeding more than one baby, and life at home with multiples. Woven throughout the eClass are fun activities to help you learn and engaging video clips that share the real stories of families with multiples. Allow 3 to 5 hours to complete.
Understanding Infant & Child Safety eClass
Statistics that show infants and children are most often injured in homes and cars. This can be scary for any new parent. Do you know all the ways you can reduce your child’s risk of being hurt from a preventable accident? Learn life-saving information by taking this online safety class! Allow 3 hours to complete.
Understanding Sibling Preparation eClass
Growing your family? Help your child become a super sibling! This online sibling preparation class teaches you how to support your child (or children) as they grow into their roles
Understanding Grandparenting eClass
Expecting a grandchild? This class is for you! While birth and babies haven’t changed, what we know about them has. Now you can prepare yourself for your new role from the comfort of home. This interactive online class covers evidence-based changes in birth, breastfeeding, baby care, and infant safety, and it provides ways for new grandparents to offer support and assistance to the new family. Get ready to put the GRAND in grandparenting! The class takes about 2 to 3 hours to complete.
